About Me
My name is Kimberly Kaye Sanderson but most know me as Kim. I am a Tax Accountant by trade, Dance Choreographer by gift, and an Empowerment Guide by purpose. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah after living in Southern Utah for the past 15 years.
Dance is my passion. I realized this passion during high school when I was a member of the dance company and drill team. I graduated high school in 1989 and moved to New York. After one year in New York I returned to Utah to begin college. I started college with plans to become a structural engineer like my father. After one year at the community college, I changed my mind about engineering and transfered to the University of Utah and started a Recreation & Leisure degree. My thoughts were “Wow, you can really get a degree in recreation and leisure,” so I pursued the degree for a little over a year. Then one random day in 1993, I decided I was going to follow my passion of dance as the words of my humanities professor kept ringing in my ear “follow your bliss and then you’ll never work a day in your life because earning a living with your bliss is not work”. In January 1994 my daughter and I moved to Cedar City, Utah for me to pursue a dance degree. I received my bachelor’s degree in Dance in 1996 from Southern Utah University where I was awarded the Best Student Choreographer. The award was based off the only dance I choreographed in my college career so I was very surprised and very honored. I titled the dance Rapture, as it encompasses rich rhythm, African drum-beats, and a spice of Latin flare both in the movement and the music.
Before recognizing my gift of dance choreography, I thought the only way for me to make a living with my passion, was to teach dance so I finished my secondary education certification June 1997 in order to teach high school dance. A month later, I married and began my family so I made the decision to stay home with my kids and postpone my dance career.
After years had gone by my focus turned away from dance and more towards seeking a “safe” career that would make money; I returned to college to pursue an accounting career. I have been a tax accountant for the past 6 years and enjoy it very much. What I have enjoyed the most about my accounting career is the interaction with people, the help I’ve been able to give them, and the friends I’ve made. Becoming an accountant, the management positions I’ve held, and owning a small accounting practice helped me to realize many of my strongest qualities and characteristics: management, leadership, integrity, and a genuine love for all my fellow humans.
Towards the end of 2006 much in my life began to change, particularly with an awakening to my True Self and spirituality. This awakening has opened my eyes to many aspects of my life, to my purpose, and has helped me recognize my gift of choreography while reinforcing my passion for dance. During this transition I developed an intense vast search into spirituality and the questions of “what is this life meant for and how am I to live it?”
This, in turn, has led to the desire to find and awaken our connection, learn from others, and empower others. So here is a new beginning with this site where I share with you, all that I am, all that I’ve come to know, and all that I’ll come to be.
I hope you’ll enjoy the journey! Much Love to all of You!
